FC Strausberg, simply known as Strausberg or FCS, is a German association football club based in Strausberg, the largest city in Märkisch-Oderland, Brandenburg. The club, that plays home games at the "Energiearena", has senior (players aged 35 years and over) and junior branches, including children.
History
The football club was founded in 1956 as Vorwärts Strausberg and it has mainly played in regional football leagues. Few years after German reunification, in 1995, the club was re-created with the current name, as the football department of the "KSC Strausberg", the local association regarding sport and culture.
Since 2005, Strausberg played in the Brandenburg-Liga, which was held in the following years with midfield places. In the 2012–13 season it won the championship and reached the NOFV-Oberliga Nord.
La squadra è stata fondata nel 1950 come BSG Motor Strausberg e cambiò il suo nome in BSG Turbine Strausberg nel 1958. Nel 1966, la squadra fu rinominata nuovamente in BSG Stahl Strausberg. Nel 1990, dopo la riunificazione tedesca, la squadra cambiò il suo nome in FC Strausberg.
L'FC Strausberg ha giocato nella NOFV-Oberliga Nord, il quarto livello del calcio tedesco, per diverse stagioni negli anni '90 e 2000. La squadra ha anche raggiunto la finale della Coppa di Brandeburgo nel 1998, ma ha perso contro il VfB Krieschow.
Nel 2010, l'FC Strausberg è retrocesso dalla NOFV-Oberliga Nord alla Verbandsliga Brandenburg. La squadra ha vinto la Verbandsliga Brandenburg nella stagione 2013-14 ed è stata promossa nuovamente alla NOFV-Oberliga Nord. Tuttavia, la squadra è retrocessa nuovamente in Verbandsliga Brandenburg dopo una sola stagione.
