The Akron Zips women's basketball team represents the University of Akron in women's basketball. The school competes in the Mid-American Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Zips play home basketball games at the James A. Rhodes Arena in Akron, Ohio.
L'Akron Femminile è una squadra di basket statunitense con sede ad Akron, Ohio. La squadra è composta da giocatrici universitarie di alto livello e compete nella National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). L'Akron Femminile è stata fondata nel 1974 e ha partecipato al suo primo torneo NCAA nel 1988. La squadra ha vinto il suo primo campionato NCAA nel 2007, battendo l'Università del Tennessee in finale. L'Akron Femminile è una delle squadre di basket femminile più titolate degli Stati Uniti, avendo vinto 11 campionati NCAA e 13 Big Ten Conference Championships. La squadra è guidata dall'allenatrice Carolyn Peck, che ha allenato l'Akron Femminile dal 1980.
